Job Description and Responsibilities

Evraz Pool and Park is recruiting 12 Temporary/Full-time Lifeguards at our Regina location for the summer 2025 (May Long weekend to September Long weekend). These positions are full-time hours scheduled between Sunday to Saturday from 7:00am to 7:00pm. We are currently looking to hire 4 Pool Supervisors/Lifeguards and 8 Pool Lifeguards:

• Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed and in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.

• Performs responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.

• Assumes responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets as required.

• Enforce swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined in the Evraz Pool Procedures.

• Supervises the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.

• Assists in cleaning and disinfecting daily duties.

• Performs Park Assistant related duties as required. (Train/Slide Attendant and Yard Work)

Requirements

Experience in dealing with clients at aquatic facilities providing lifeguarding and recognized Lifesaving Society instructional services. Must possess the following awards and certifications:

Must have ONE of the following:

• Lifesaving Society Aquatics Emergency Care (AEC) with CPR Level C

• Canadian Red Cross CPR Level C

• St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid: CPR Level C

Must have ALL of the following:

• Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service (NLS – Pool Option)

• Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Course

• Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

• Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) (Optional)

Pool Supervisor – Must have:

• Pool Operators Course

Additional Requirements

• All certifications must be current and available to the employer.

• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques in water safety, lifeguarding and instruction.

• Knowledge of the standard principles and practices of first aid.

• Knowledge of instructional techniques.

• Knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures dealing with swimming pool operation, as outlined by the relevant acts, bylaws, and policies.

• Ability to receive/implement oral and written instructions.

• Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with patrons and fellow employees.

• Willing to work in variable weather conditions including hot, dry/wet summer conditions.

• A willingness to learn and work responsibly following all safety procedures.

• Must be able to work Daytime, Evenings, Weekends and Stat Holidays.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
