The QC Inspector will provide assistance and direction to Maintenance, Turnaround, and Construction Supervisors and personnel in the performance of inspections, tests and completion of documentation covering welding, mechanical, rotating equipment, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. The inspector will perform spot checks and other quality audits to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, client specs, procedures and practices. QC will collect, generate, verify, and maintain all required documents and prepare for turnover to the client. QC will participate in final inspections and coordinate and supervise all non-destructive examinations.
The QC Inspector will report directly to the Site Quality Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:
Preparing ITPs.
Witnessing Leak Testing.
Planning, Scheduling & Coordinating NDE & PWHT Personnel.
Coordinating QC activities with Client & Field Personnel.
Preparing QC Forms.
Monitoring Welders’ Qualifications.
Assisting with the preparation of QC Turnover Packages.
Duties deemed acceptable and overseen by the QC Manager.
Work Experience:
Minimum one (1) year practical experience as a QC Inspector in an industrial environment or four (4) years practical experience as an industrial trades’ person associated with piping, pressure equipment or structural steel.
CWB Level 2 / AWS CWI or CWB Level 1 with experience
Consideration given to the following:
API 510, 570 or 653 Inspector
Welding or Material Tech Diploma
Welding Examiner
Pressure Welder
CGSB Level 2 – RT, MT, PT
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Aware of Provincial Acts and Regulations and Construction Codes such as API, CSA, ASME, ANSI, ACI, NACE, IEEE, IBC, NEMA, NBIC, etc.
Ability to read and comprehend WPS and Weld Details.
